What is an RBT?
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional in behavior analysis. RBTs collaborate with and work under the close supervision of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who design, supervise, and analyze treatment plans. The RBT provides direct, one-on-one therapy to clients using ABA. RBTs help our clients’ master goals related to adaptive living skills, social skills, functional communication, and so much more! Each treatment plan is individualized based on the needs of the client and their family.
How to Become an RBT:
· Be at least 18 years old
· Must have at least a high school-level education
· Pass a background check
· Complete a 40-hour training that meets the BACB requirements
· Complete Initial Competency Assessment
· Apply for and pass board exam
