Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on skill acquisition. ABA is used to teach various skills including social skills, communication skills, and emotional regulation. ABA therapy is also used to teach basic self-help skills.
Through increasing skill sets, ABA also reduces challenging behaviors including aggression, self-injurious behaviors, tantrums, etc.
